Gothic Memories
A TigersTime Studios Exclusive!

The Old Relaible Run
I have always been intrigued by puzzles. Several years after displaying my kinetic resin sculptures in the Spoleto Festival USA 1979, I began designing ciphers that use symbols to represent letters. In 2001 I did my first Gothic puzzle featuring one of my favorite island locations - Ocracoke, NC. I wanted a distinctive way to remember the different venues and a unique format to impart a personal message. I wanted people to look at the imaging from two totally different perspectives. This design led to further refinements and ways to create different puzzle pieces.

These memories can be developed in many ways. The Gothic element, my trademark, can be incorporated to impart your personal hidden message. These compilations are designed to capture a person's memories, in this case a sporting event - a memorable race. The piece shown is 20" x 26". This enlargement is not big enough to show the detail, so following is a close up.

Gothic SectionThis graphic shows the top two pieces. Look closely to discover the Gothic letters 'C' and 'O'. Each graphically simulated piece contains a letter. Reading the message takes some concentration, but that's the idea behind the technique.

I'm showing this work on this site because at present they are available as one off, personal Giclée prints. These are printed on archival paper or canvas and are museum quality. You would be featured in the piece. These are expensive but very distinctive for the athlete who wants to treasure a special moment in time. If you are interested in owning a personal Giclée you can read more about them at my gallery. I would be happy to discuss the process with you.

I hope to offer an inexpensive offset, open edition of a major race. If you are a race organizer or know one who might like to offer a very special memory to all participants, please send me a message via our contact form.
